France's data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, published a second opinion on the functioning of contact tracing and other systems used to combat the COVID-19 pandemic that process personal data. The CNIL noted new practices contrary to the EU General Data Protection Regulation and issued a formal notice against a regional health agency as part of data-processing operation Contact COVID. The CNIL said it will continue conducting checks on these systems.
