Article 29 Working Party Chairwoman and CNIL President Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin addressed the attendees of the IAPP Data Protection Congress 2016 in Brussels, Belgium, speaking to the future of data protection in Europe. "We are in a critical period," Falque-Pierrotin said. "The [General Data Protection Regulation] has been adopted, and we have less than 18 months to be ready." There is much work ahead, she continues. "There is clearly a lot of work and efforts in front of us. But I want to start by staying that this is worth it, because the GDPR answers to the new needs and trends we collectively have to face."
