The French data protection authority, the CNIL, published its recommendations regarding the implementation of data anonymization techniques. The CNIL provides a definition and reasoning for the use of anonymized personal data while explaining that EU data protection authorities look for individualization, correlation and inference when ensuring anonymization practices have been applied properly.
