France's data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés, published a white paper on data protection issues associated with contactless payments. The paper aims to discuss key economic, legal and societal challenges presented by the growing use of online payments and subsequent use of personal data. The CNIL notes eight discussion points raised within its paper, including EU General Data Protection Regulation compliance measures, data security techniques and more. A public consultation on the contents of the paper is open through Dec. 15.
