Voice-based chat application Clubhouse denied allegations that a data breach exposed 3.8 billion users’ phone numbers on the dark web, News18 reports. A hacker claimed the database was valued at $3 billion and included the numbers of some of the “most influential” people in the world. Clubhouse said bots are “generating billions of random phone numbers,” adding, “in the event that one of these random numbers happens to exist on our platform due to mathematical coincidence, Clubhouse’s API returns no user identifiable information.”
