Clearview AI claims Section 230 of the federal Communications Decency Act grants it immunity from a lawsuit filed by Vermont Attorney General TJ Donovan, Techdirt reports. In a request to dismiss the suit, filed in March citing privacy violations, Clearview said it creates a searchable database using third-party content and cannot be responsible for its use because it does not create the content. Clearview claims it collects “far less data” than comparable search engines and does not intentionally collect identifying information.
