The New York Times reports Clearview AI has hired prominent First Amendment attorney Floyd Abrams to represent the company in several court cases. Clearview faces lawsuits in Illinois, Virginia and New York, as well as one from Vermont's attorney general. However, most cases have been transferred to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Abrams said litigation against Clearview “has the potential of leading to a major decision about the interrelationship between privacy claims and First Amendment defenses in the 21st century.”
