The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada announced Clearview AI ended all services and partnerships in Canada. The facial recognition software company notified OPC following the suspension of its contract with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The cease in Canadian operations comes in response to an ongoing joint investigation by OPC and provincial privacy commissioners into Clearview's technology. OPC still intends to complete its joint investigation and separate investigation into RCMP's facial recognition use.
