In a blog post, Google Senior Privacy Counsel Peter Fleischer provides an overview of the three years since the so-called right to be forgotten went operational at Google and notes two significant upcoming cases likely to provide more RTBF definition. First, the Court of Justice of the European Union, in case number C-136/17, will decide whether Google should have delisted links concerning four individuals who were displeased when Google decided not to delist the links because they were in the public interest. Second, the French Conseil d'Etat will decide whether the RTBF should apply beyond Europe's borders, which Google has argued strenuously against.
