Representatives of nearly 30 civil society groups wrote a letter to Zoom CEO Eric Yuan calling on the company to cease use of software that detects users' emotions, The Hill reports. The letter came in response to reports of Zoom beginning to roll out post-meeting sentiment analysis for hosts. Facial expressions can vary by culture and nation, which could make it hard to create an algorithm that judges them equally. The groups also started an online petition that asked Zoom to drop using the technology.
