Civil Liberties Members of Parliament assert European Union agencies should be allowed to conduct an audit on Facebook’s data protection efforts. The committee passed the resolution on the subject, as it noted the tech company has not performed a full internal audit despite the efforts it has made to shore up its privacy practices. The MEPs want Facebook to permit the EU Agency for Network and Information Security and the European Data Protection Board to complete a “full and independent audit” of Facebook and to present the findings to the European Commission and Parliament and other national parliaments.
