The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario opened an investigation into a dossier the city of Toronto reportedly compiled on the city’s homeless people in 2021, the Toronto Sun reports. The investigation comes after The Canadian Press reported on the city’s $2 million plan to clear homeless encampments in three Toronto parks. The dossier included a map of a park marked with the locations of tents and a chart that identified each person living there by name and a photograph of their tent. The IPC said affected persons could lodge a complaint.
