Al Jazeera reports that lacking results and increased privacy concerns have Indian citizens second-guessing the country's Aadhaar biometric data system. The Unique Identification Authority of India continues to tout the system as a way to streamline public services nine years after its implementation, but system flaws have been exposed by reported data breaches. Citizens using Aadhaar are also dealing with recurring concerns that their data is being shared with private corporations. The sharing was deemed illegal by India's Supreme Court, but the government has passed a temporary order that is opening the door for companies to once again obtain the personal information stored with the system.
