As part of a series, BloombergQuint partnered with the #SaveOurPrivacy campaign to produce videos highlighting the importance of legislation aimed at protecting the privacy and data security of Indian citizens. In this video, Maansi Verma, founder of Maadhyam and drafting volunteer at Save Our Privacy, explains the Indian Privacy Code 2018, a model drafted by a group of citizens, and discusses ongoing government efforts on privacy. Verma says the proposal serves as a “humble attempt at providing a citizen-centric and rights-focused privacy law, which will hopefully set a benchmark for the impending government legislation.”
