The findings of a citizens’ jury on the sharing of sensitive health information have been released to the public, according to an article posted on Gov.uk. The study featured 17 individuals who were asked about when it would be appropriate to share health care data, with a particular focus on reasonable expectations of privacy. The participants were given scenarios when they might share their data, and the panel responded if they felt they would have a reasonable expectation of privacy when handing off the information. The group supported sharing data with implied consent for testing, as well as for research purposes and the development of new tools, provided the amount of shared data is appropriate for the task taking place.
