Apple said it declined to include 16 new web technologies in its Safari browser due to privacy concerns, ZDNet reports. The company said the new technologies, which add user fingerprinting opportunities for online advertisers, posed a threat to user privacy. Meanwhile, marketers are criticizing new privacy settings in Apple’s iOS 14 that request user consent before individual apps can track their activity and share it with third parties, saying it will hurt advertisers.
