The discordant relationship that oftentimes exists between CISOs and CIOs needs to instead become one of unity against the “common enemies” of data theft and mismanagement, Healthcare IT News reports. "We've got to figure out how we get together and meet in the middle," Fairview Health Services’ CISO Barry Caplin noted at the publication’s recent Privacy & Security Forum. A simple first step, he continued, is considering "the way we use the language," stressing the need for CISOs to "go out to your CIOs and talk about these things: 'What problems am I causing for you? What do you hate about security and IT?' They'll tell you all kinds of stuff. And then you can start partnering to solve the problem."
