The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation urged the public and organizations to “remain vigilant and take appropriate precautions” against ransomware and other cyberattacks this holiday season. The agencies recommended identifying IT employees to be available weekends and holidays in the event of an attack, implementing multifactor authentication for remote access, and reviewing and updating incident response and communication plans. CISA Director Jen Easterly said the agencies are not aware of a current threat, but “threat actors don’t take holidays.”
