Ciitizen’s third Patient Record Scorecard saw “significant improvement” in providers’ compliance with the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Privacy Rule’s Right of Access, HealthITSecurity reports. Of the 820 health care providers evaluated, those needing assistance on compliance dropped from 51% in November 2019 to 27%. In August 2019, the majority of providers failed to comply. The percentage of providers who received five stars for “going above and beyond HIPAA” also increased, from 20% to 28%.
