Vice reports the personal details of approximately 2.4 million individuals from various countries have been leaked from a database owned by Chinese technology company Zhenhua Data. Affected individuals include citizens from the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, India and Japan. Zhenhua, which contracts with the Chinese government, had been compiling birthdates, addresses, marital statuses, relatives, political associations and social media identifications from various social media accounts and other open-source platforms.
