China’s National People’s Congress Standing Committee released the second draft of the Personal Information Protection Law for public comment, according to Stanford University's DigiChina Cyber Policy Center. The latest PIPL draft includes new self-regulatory obligations for online platforms, penalties for sharing data with foreign authorities without permission and enhanced data privacy responsibilities for the Cyberspace Administration of China.
