A data breach of Chicago Public Schools exposed personal information of 500,000 students and more than 56,000 employees, Security Magazine reports. CPS released a statement reporting the compromised student data included names, birthdates, gender, grade level, school and district, and state student ID numbers. Staff names, school employee ID numbers and CPS email addresses were breached as were student information about courses, test scores and tasks used to evaluate teachers between 2015 and 2019. CPS said there were no indications the data had been improperly used or circulated.
