Powered by artificial intelligence, a chatbot named Parker, introduced by Norton Rose Fulbright, responds to questions pertaining to the upcoming EU General Data Protection Regulation, ITWeb reports. Kerri Crawford, a senior associate for the law firm's Johannesburg office, created the chatbot in conjunction with its European data protection team to help companies in non-EU jurisdictions determine whether the regulation applies to them. Nick Abrahams, Norton Rose Fulbright's global head of technology and innovation, said, "Following the successful launch of Parker to address clients' questions on the new Australian data protection notification regime, we wanted to examine the scope of the new EU GDPR: a subject of huge concern to businesses worldwide and which will take effect imminently."
