The U.S. Chamber of Commerce called for a replacement for the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield agreement, Reuters reports. The group urged the EU and U.S. to work together on a new data transfer deal and, in a memo seen by Reuters, said the upcoming summit between the two sides is an opportunity to begin an agreement. The agency added a deal would help economic recovery "by eliminating existing barriers to transatlantic commerce, preventing new barriers, and establishing joint approaches on foundational and emerging technologies."
