The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau handed down advance notice of proposed rulemaking for Section 1033 of the Dodd-Frank Act, which carries provisions on consumer rights to access financial data. The announcement calls on stakeholders to provide input for CFPB to "most efficiently and effectively develop regulations." Stakeholders were asked to consider and comment on potential impacts on privacy, data security, the costs and benefits of data access, and more.
