CFPB finds financial privacy concerns with online video game purchases

The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau released a report explaining financial privacy concerns with online video game purchases due to the large amount of data collected within games' marketplaces. The CFPB said video game companies are able to "track players' location data, which can generate an accurate portrait of a player's daily routines, such as their home address, places of employment or worship, and health and medical status."
