Computer equipment was stolen from the CBC offices, potentially compromising the information of more than 20,000 past, present and contract employees, CBC News reports. The computer equipment may have contained the names, bank accounts and payment amounts made by the CBC. Emails were sent out informing employees of the breach, while the CBC said the perpetrator’s identity is known, as surveillance video caught the suspect in the act. "While there is no indication that any data has been accessed, we want everyone who could be affected to be aware of the potential risks and what we're doing about it," CBC Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Judith Purves said in a statement.
