BBB National Programs’ Children’s Advertising Review Unit found TickTalk’s smartwatch phone and application failed to provide concise notice of its collection practices of children’s data and failed to directly notify parents. CARU said TickTalk’s practices violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and its Guidelines for Children’s Online Privacy Protection. The company agreed to corrective actions, including updating parental notifications on its website and app, correcting its privacy notice, and providing means for obtaining verifiable consent from parents.
