The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation has started to work with other organizations to determine whether the hacker behind the Capital One data breach compromised their services, as well, The Wall Street Journal reports. Paige Thompson cited several entities she may have hacked in messages sent via Slack. Michigan State University and the Ohio Department of Transportation, two of the organizations named by Thompson, said they are currently working with the FBI. Italian bank UniCredit SpA announced it has launched an investigation into the breach, and Israeli security firm CyberInt said Vodafone may also have been a breach victim. Meanwhile, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada announced it will start its own probe into the Capital One breach. (Registration may be required to access this story.)
