The National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians will continue the Canadian government's probe into spyware use and other surveillance practices carried out by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Politico reports. The NSICOP, made up of lawmakers from both chambers of Parliament, plans to conduct a "framework review" focused on "lawful interception of communications by security and intelligence organizations." The committee will also examine national security agencies’ data collection methods. Meanwhile, the federal government's Privy Council Office published a survey showing Canadians do not support further government data sharing for national security purposes.
