The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec announced Canadian grocery store chain Sobeys sustained a data breach, The Globe and Mail reports. The company had claimed it was dealing with "IT system" issues recently and customers experienced difficulties filling prescriptions at in-store pharmacies. Both provincial data protection authorities confirmed they had received declarations of “confidentiality incidents” from the grocer. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada is also in communication with the company.
