In an op-ed for The Hill, Center for AI and Digital Policy founder and President Marc Rotenberg wrote regarding U.S. Congress potentially succeeding in an uphill battle to pass federal privacy legislation with the time remaining on the 2022 legislative calendar. He said debate around provisions in the proposed American Data Privacy and Protection Act and specific omissions from that proposal are problematic, but added public attitudes toward technology companies are also larger considerations. "Tech lobbyists no longer hold the pen on legislation," Rotenberg wrote.
