U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California Senior District Judge Jeffrey White dismissed a proposed class-action lawsuit against Walmart over an alleged data breach, Reuters reports. White ruled San Francisco resident Lavarious Gardiner did not adequately argue claims an alleged data breach exposed customers’ personal information on the dark web. Gardiner also alleged a violation of the California Consumer Privacy Act, which White ruled does not apply. Walmart disputed a breach occurred and said it is pleased with the decision.
