California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced residents who sought a concealed carry weapons permit from the state between 2011 and 2021 had their personal information exposed. Bonta said other exposed information included names, addresses, gender and race as well as data on several dashboards including the assault weapons registry, handgun sale registry and gun violence restraining order registry. No financial information was exposed. Bonta said his office would contact affected individuals.
