On Tuesday, the California Senate Standing Committee on Judiciary took up California Consumer Privacy Act amendments the state assembly had passed last month. At the hearing, Democratic Chairwoman State Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson supported two CCPA "clean-up" bills without requesting amendments: AB 25 and AB 874. "Both sailed through her committee unanimously and are highly likely to become law," writes DLA Piper's Jim Halpert and Tracy Shapiro. In this post for Privacy Tracker, Halpert, who was in Sacramento for the hearing, and Shapiro provide an update on which bills passed with amendments, as well as the bills that were defeated. Editor's Note: The IAPP has updated its CCPA Amendments Tracker in the Resource Center.
