Metro Calgary reports the city plans to apologize for a privacy breach compromising the information of 3,716 individuals attached to Workers’ Compensation Board claim reports. The breached information included WCB claim numbers, names, incident dates, details regarding the claims, employee ID numbers, and costs associated with the claim. The City of Calgary said no personal contact information, Social Insurance Numbers, banking information, or Personal Health Numbers were leaked. “We apologize for this situation,” the city said in a statement. “The city takes its responsibility of handling and managing the personal information of our staff and citizens very seriously. We are conducting a full review of our current processes and information and data security safeguards to reduce the potential for this type of incident to occur again.”
