Britain’s Royal Mail reported a decline in the number of letters it delivered in its first quarter, attributing the decline to customers remaining uncertain about the new EU General Data Protection Regulation, Reuters reports. While the Royal Mail had previously forecast that the new regulation may result in reduced marketing mail, the company said it was working with customers to find solutions. While the organization expected a drop in letter volumes to be about 4 to 6 percent for 2018 and 2019, it announced the decline may fall outside that range. The Royal Mail reported a 6 percent fall in volume for the quarter that ended June 24.
