The Conservative Party increased its majority in Parliament following the results of the 2019 U.K. general election, BBC News reports. The Conservatives won 365 seats, giving the party its largest majority since 1987. The results of the election have increased the prospect of Brexit moving forward. Prime Minister Boris Johnson plans to put the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement Bill before MPs for a vote. Given the Conservative majority, the bill is likely to pass, and the U.K. will exit from the European Union 31 Jan. From there, Johnson will work to renegotiate a new deal with the EU before the country fully leaves the union December 2020.
