European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton told TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew the platform faces a Sept. 1 ban in the EU if it does not address Digital Services Act compliance, Reuters reports. Breton said the commission "will not hesitate to adopt the full scope of sanctions to protect our citizens if audits do not show full compliance." He added the commission will hold TikTok to "greater responsibility" given its younger audience.
