An unauthorized user accessed BC’s Wildfire Management Branch website databases and “compromised the data security of approximately 15,000 people,” CBC News reports. “This incident may have resulted in some personal information being unlawfully accessed, including the name, gender, general contact information, date of birth, driver’s license number and job evaluation information of past wildfire crew firefighter job applicants,” the BC government said in a statement. And Metro reports Mount Sinai hospital has confirmed two staff members inappropriately accessed Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s health record. Meanwhile, Ontario Acting Privacy Commissioner Brian Beamish has contacted Toronto District School Board with plans to send in investigators next week following allegations trustees and staff tampered with documents that were part of a freedom-of-information request.
