Brazil’s data protection authority, the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados, opened a public comment period for how children and adolescents’ data should be processed under the General Data Protection Law. The topic is subject to debate because there is “a situation of legal uncertainty for treatment agents, due to the lack of definition about which legal hypotheses authorize” the processing of children’s data.
