On Oct. 20, 2020, Miriam Wimmer, CIPP/E, was appointed as one of five directors for Brazil’s data protection authority, the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados. She and her fellow directors have since begun laying the foundation for compliance and enforcement of Brazil’s General Data Protection Law. In a discussion with IAPP Staff Writer Joe Duball, Wimmer opens up about the beginning of the ANPD’s work and what lies ahead.
