Brazil’s data protection authority, Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados, published its technical study that outlined how personal data can be processed for academic research under the General Data Protection Law. The study titled “The LGPD and the processing of personal data for academic purposes and for carrying out studies by a research body” aims to establish guidelines for teaching and research institutions that process personal data and public entities that make data available for research. The ANPD is seeking public input on the final text.
