ZDNet reports Brazil will create a single citizen database containing the personal information of the country's more than 200 million citizens and share them across government departments. Data will be categorized as broad, restricted or specific and implemented in two stages: The first stage will include individual's names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers; the second stage will include an individual's biometric data, such as fingerprints, voice and gait. The Secretariat for Digital Government will oversee the database creation, and the Central Committee for Data Governance has been created to focus on transparency and corruption prevention.
