The Council Of Europe announced Brazil and Gabon's Data Protection Commission have joined the Committee of Convention 108 as observers. The committee is made up of nearly 70 countries that have either pledged to implement the principles of Convention 108 or are observers whose countries and data protection authorities have not yet become members. The committee meets twice a year in Strasbourg, with a focus on topics such as data protection, artificial intelligence, safeguarding health care data and others.
