U.K. Biometrics and Surveillance Camera Commissioner Fraser Sampson said police departments should not be barred from using facial recognition technology, Financial Times reported. Sampson said the use of facial recognition tech should be addressed by law enforcement rather than lawmakers. The commissioner added the use of artificial intelligence will be "inevitable" and an "increasingly necessary component of policing."
