A federal judge in Illinois rejected Vimeo’s request to send a biometric privacy lawsuit to arbitration, MediaPost reports. The judge said Vimeo’s arbitration agreement with users excludes invasion of privacy claims. In the lawsuit filed last September, Bradley Acaley alleges the company violated the Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act. In Atlanta, Georgia, Aveanna Healthcare is facing a lawsuit following a data breach that affected more than 166,000 individuals. Meanwhile, a privacy impact assessment by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement details its use of biometrics and the privacy implications involved.
