The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda announced it recognizes the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Cross-Border Privacy Rules System as a certification mechanism for transborder data transfers under the Personal Information Protection Act. The commission advises Bermudian organizations to ensure CBPR certifications are part of their data transfer agreements with third-party countries. The commission is also hosting a webinar March 11 on the CBPR System.
