According to a post from Hunton Andrews Kurth's Privacy & Information Security Law Blog, Belgium's Data Protection Authority has released its Annual Activity Report for 2018. The DPA, which was known as the Belgian Privacy Commission until last year, had a 46% increase in the cases it processed last year, 445 of which were data breach notifications. With those breaches, 28.09% were caused by human error and 22.7% came from hacking, phishing and malware. Requests for opinions also jumped from 90 in 2017 to 215 last year.
