California Attorney General Xavier Becerra sat down with Politico to discuss a range of topics, including U.S. antitrust laws and data privacy. Becerra indicated that antitrust laws are not up to date and apply to "a different generation and a different type of industry." Becerra also offered a suggestion to Congress regarding its efforts to craft federal U.S. privacy legislation. "Don't undermine what we’re doing," Becerra said. "Watch and learn. Take the best from what those of us who are doing this are doing, whether it’s the Europeans, whether it’s California, whether it’s some of the other states that are looking to get into this."
